Osasuna vs Real Betis

Osasuna and Real Betis are set to face-off against each other at the Estadio El Sadar in a mid-table La Liga clash.

It’s been a solid start to this La Liga campaign for Osasuna, as they’ve suffered just one defeat across their first five league matches (W2, L2), courtesy of a 4-1 home thrashing to Valencia on Matchday 4. After a brace of scoreless draws at the beginning of the 2021/22 season, two of Osasuna’s three subsequent La Liga games have seen over 4.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Yet, the recent top-flight H2H stakes suggest we could be in for a low-scoring affair, as each of their last five La Liga meetings with Betis saw one or both sides fail to score, with four of them featuring under 2.5 overall goals. Topically, before scoring in that thumping defeat to Valencia, Osasuna had struggled to find the net in three consecutive home La Liga fixtures.

In the meantime, Betis have started the new season pretty much in the same fashion they capped off the last one, drawing three of their inaugural five La Liga outings (W1, L1). ‘Los Verdiblancos’ have earned a reputation as ‘stalemate specialists’ since the start of April, as ten of their 15 league matches in that span have ended level (W4, L1). Since succumbing to a 1-0 loss to Sevilla in mid-March, Betis have gone unbeaten in their subsequent seven away La Liga games (W2, D5), a streak they look likely to extend here. Indeed, the Andalusians take the field on a run of three consecutive top-flight H2Hs away from home without losing (W2, D1), their joint-longest such streak against Osasuna in the competition alongside 1980/82.
