On the other hand, Burnley’s impressive three-game winning streak in the Premier League came to a halt at the hands of Aston Villa (1-3) last time out, keeping them level on points with 18th-placed Leeds United ahead of this round. Playing away from home has never been Burnley’s strong suit, yet the ‘Clarets’ pulled off a hard-fought 2-1 win at relegated Watford last time out to end a run of four league travels without winning (D2, L2). After picking up an unexpected 1-0 triumph in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor, the Lancashire outfit could complete their first-ever league double over Tottenham in their top-flight history. But, the visitors will have to defy their abysmal 18-game Premier League form on the road (W2, D7, L9) to achieve that feat.
